Hi, I'm Kei! The Woman behind Self Affirmed Mama and mother to the little, but powerful girl in the picture below. I am a creative being who has always been passionate about freedom, love, and purpose! I'm originally from Birmingham, Alabama, but as an Air Force Veteran I’ve traveled to multiple places around the world, where I've had the beautiful opportunity to experience so many different types of people, career expansion, life events, and more. In early 2021, I shifted into one of my most challenging and transformative phases, I’ve ever experienced and later that year Self Affirmed Mama was gifted to me as an idea during a time when I needed it the most. Over the next few years, I spent jumping, but still having rope that bound me to a tree rooted in childhood trauma, trauma and abuse from a past relationship, and the aftermath of releasing that relationship while navigating motherhood. Now, I choose to cut that rope and jump, feeling the wind and sun adorn my beautiful brown skin to explore whatever awaits me, knowing that I’m rooted in purpose now. 

SELF - I choose to break through the layers of self concept that does not truly align with me and see who I am authentically, at my core, at a soul level.
AFFIRMED - I choose to show compassion, unwavering and unconditional love, and validate the woman I see, naked, in multiple senses of the word. 
MAMA - I choose to surrender and allow the woman I’m destined to be, be born and nurturing her wholly.
